Audio Transfer Services:

As there are so many recording formats out there, it is not unusual for a recording to be on the wrong format or in
the wrong file type for a given project. We hold numerous digital and analogue formats in our studio and technical
centre and can source equipment to transfer your audio to a preferred format or file type with or without audio
processing, PQ Coding, ABS Time or Timecode Striping. We can provide a straight transfer or incorporate your
transfer into a full restoration, digital editing or mastering project.

Additionally we offer tape baking facilities in special incubator / ovens for reel to reel tapes that have been in
long-term storage and we have restoration facilities for tapes that may have been subjected to flooding, or lived in
damp and mouldy conditions, very often the tape has survived inside and some if not all audio can be resurrected.

some standard services are listed below with prices, you may also like to get in touch to discuss your audio

Audio Restoration

We offer restoration facilities that include manual cleaning and treatment of old records and tapes together with
digital signal processing to remove any sound artefacts from the original recording. We use specialist amplifiers
and dCs Convertors for Analogue - Digital, Digital - Digital and Digital - Analogue conversion. CEDAR Audio
products are used for the restoration processes.
Please see below for some of the treatments we can offer. You may also like to click here to see our Forensic Audio section.

  • Declicking - this is a relatively simple process that removes clicks and scratches from the original recording
  • Decrackle - this is the most successful solution for removing crackle, buzz, surface noise and distortion
  • Dehiss - for general noise reduction from tape
  • Debuzz - ideal for hums and buzzes that have multiple harmonics to the signal, e.g. camera noise and eliminating power supply hums
